Blackfriars Teaching School Alliance have a number of new courses and events being held in the Summer term.

CPA Approach To Learning In Maths: KS1

11th April 2019, 1:30pm-4:30pm

£79 per delegate

This half day session is ideal for Key Stage 1 practitioners who are new to the profession, new to the Key Stage or who are unfamiliar with the CPA approach to learning in Maths.  Please click here for the events flyer.

TAs – Effective Use Of Scarce Financial Resources

21st May 2019, 9:30am-3pm

£149 per delegate (lunch included)

This is a course designed for SENCOs and leaders who are responsible for the deployment of TAs in their school. It looks at the most recent research findings and at strategies to ensure that schools’ very scarce resources are used as effectively as possible.  Please click here for the events flyer.

Student Independence – a course for TAs who want their students to become less dependent

5th June 2019, 9:30am-3pm

£149 per delegate (lunch included)

This one day course helps TAs to re-evaluate their role in the classroom. Looking at the theory and practice of every day classrooms, we will look at how you can encourage your students to self – scaffold, at how strategies such as prompting, clueing, modelling and correcting can help SEND students to become more independent and make greater progress.  Please click here for the events flyer.

Developing Strategies To Support SEND Students With Low Level Challenging Behavioural Needs For Mainstream Schools

18th June 2019, 9:30am-3pm

Year 5 Technology Event – Design, Make and Evaluate Energy Vehicle

Sessions available at Madeley School from 1pm – 3pm on:

18th June 2019

27th June 2019

2nd July 2019

11th July 2019

Each session costs £156 and there are spaces for up to 24 pupils. The cost for individual pupils is £6.50

This workshop experience will enable every pupil to use a range of hand tools in the workshop and learn key skills about D&T. Every pupil will construct a rolling chassis and produce a vehicle body for testing their own energy vehicle. Each pupil will have the opportunity to safely use the pillar drill and vertical belt faced sander. Please click here to download the event flyer
