Last Wednesday (16th January 2019), our Chemistry trainees were out at Walton High School with their Subject Expert, Meg Riley.
Chemistry trainee, Kelly Boland, explained how Meg was “was only too happy to share her pearls of wisdom with the team for getting the pupils to engage in classes and make what can seem a daunting subject fun”.
Kelly went on to discuss how “Team Chemistry tackled chemical reactions for Key Stage 3”. She explained that “this involved dissolving marble with acid, making Elephants Toothpaste and setting each other on fire! The aim of the day was to make chemistry as fun as possible, while encompassing the key objectives and addressing any misconceptions in the early stages, so the students will remember them well into Key Stage 4 and beyond”.
We’d like to thank Walton High School, Meg Riley, along with Kelly Boland who provided the photos and comments for the post.
