The OAKS

"An outstanding secondary teaching training provider" (ofsted 2016)

The OAKS are looking to appoint a Deputy Director

It is with great excitement that we advertise the Deputy Director role for the ‘Ofsted Outstanding’, OAKS secondary teacher training programme.

Due to impending expansion of The OAKS, we are looking for a creative, outward facing individual who is passionate about teacher education to become our deputy director. The director of the OAKS is a very experienced and dynamic individual who provides a great role model from whom to learn the ropes. You would be responsible for overseeing large teams of people as the OAKS expands, all committed to developing and delivering outstanding initial teacher training. It is a very exciting role, one that would suit those eager to learn with great personal drive. Due to the locations of our partner schools, some travel is to be expected as part of the role, but your main base would be the beautiful Keele University campus.

The OAKS is an Ofsted Outstanding (2016) and innovative SCITT (School Centred Initial Teacher Training programme) which links Keele University and OAT (Ormiston Academies Trust) with a long-established partnership of schools in five local authorities: Staffordshire, Stoke-on-Trent, Shropshire, Birmingham and Cheshire.  The OAKS headquarters are based in the beautiful green campus of Keele University.

All OAKS trainees qualify with a Keele University PGCE. This is a genuine partnership between the partnership schools, The OAKS and Keele University, which ensures relevant and up-to-date training, with a range of research activity which keeps teacher education in the forefront of educational thinking. The OAKS believes that it is an extremely caring and friendly organisation and will, at all times, provide help, encouragement and support, whenever it is needed.

We are hoping to interview mid May and the closing date is Monday 13th May at 9am.  For any related enquires, please contact OAKS Director, Rob Tweats at r.tweats@keele.ac.uk.
